So as to further enhance the fire control ability of teachers and students with the Senior High Department, intensify the consciousness of earthquake prevention, disaster reduction and emergency preparation as well as endeavor to establish a harmonious and peaceful campus, in accordance with school arrangements, on the morning of 17th November, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Senior High Section held the earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation security drills.
Before the manoeuvre, according to the actual conditions of our school, all head teachers from the Senior High Division taught students how to protect themselves during earthquakes or fire hazard. Also, head teachers introduced to students the knowledge of safe evacuation and fleeing for life. On the other hand, they reminded students to pay attention to potential safety hazard around themselves such as electric leakage, air leakage and wire aging. Besides, students were taught how to conduct prevention before accidents happened, how to save themselves when disaster occurred in addition to how to protect life and minimize the losses.
To be specific, the drill started with a pressing siren. Then each head teacher and subject teacher immediately led students to evacuate according to the designated routes swiftly and in order. The whole evacuation work was systematic, intense and well-aligned. What’s more, teachers in charge of each floor were composed and commanded orderly. In addition, there were teachers guiding evacuation routes at each staircase, emergency exit and turning. Last but not the least, all teachers and students gathered together at safety zones such as the playground and sports field neatly and as planned.
To be brief, by means of this seismic prevention and disaster mitigation as well as evacuation emergency drills, teachers and students not only further elevated their security consciousness, urgent evacuation capabilities and fire safety awareness, but also mastered some basic skills in case of emergencies to rapidly save themselves, get away from emergencies and realize mutual rescue, which laid a solid foundation for constructing a peaceful campus.
